Katya Tambe

Mrs Tambe is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Queens medical Centre in Nottingham. She has a specialist interest in paediatric Oculoplastics. After completing her MS & DNB in Ophthalmology from Pune, India, she joined the Ophthalmology training program in the West Midlands Deanery culminating in an FRCSEd (Ophth) and MRCOphth from RCOphth. She is dual fellowship trained in Oculoplastics and paediatric Ophthalmology having done a fellowship at the Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Birmingham Children’s Hospital prior to joining the Queens medical Centre in Nottingham as a consultant in 2010. She has a busy regional practice in Paediatric Oculoplastics, managing patients with congenital periocular pathology, adnexal and orbital tumours; lid, lacrimal and orbital conditions and deals with the full range of adult Oculoplastics and cataract surgery. She is the Clinical Director of the Ambulatory Care division of the hospital and is the Transformation lead for Ophthalmology in the Nottinghamshire region. She is passionate about the Ophthalmic League of Friends charity of the Queens medical Centre. Mrs Tambe is a keen trekker and cyclist and loves to spend time in the outdoors with her friends and family. Her latest mountain adventure was scaling mount Kilimanjaro, 5895m high peak in Tanzania.
