Professor Dr Mae-Lynn Catherine Bastion is Professor of Ophthalmology (Vitreoretina) from Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, National University of Malaysia (UKM). She is also senior consultant ophthalmologist at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz and UKM Specialist Centre. Her field of specialisation / interest is vitreoretinal diseases and surgery, as well as cataract. Her special interests include healing of cornea epitheliopathy in diabetics, diabetic vitrectomy and anti-VEGF therapies, stem cell therapies for retinal diseases and optic nerve injuries, ocular trauma and myopia. especially prevention and surgical management of complications. She holds the following positions: Chairperson, Vitreoretinal Chapter, College of Ophthalmologists, Academy of Medicine Malaysia; Honorary Treasurer, Malaysian Universities Conjoint Committee of Ophthalmology (MUCCO) and Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology (MSO) and Advisor, Malaysian Advocacy for Myopia Prevention, Paediatric Ophthalmology SIG @ MSO
