Melinda Chang

Dr. Melinda Chang is a pediatric neuro-ophthalmologist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Assistant Professor at University of Southern California. She currently serves as Director of the Consortium for Pediatric Ophthalmologists (CPNO) and Chair of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) Low Vision Committee. Her research focuses on methods to assess visual function in children with cortical/cerebral impairment (CVI) and the application of artificial intelligence to pediatric neuro-ophthalmologic conditions. Last year, Dr. Chang co-chaired the 2023 Trans-NIH CVI workshop, and she is actively working with the NIH to develop a consensus definition and diagnostic criteria for CVI.
