Dr. Muralidhar Ramappa is an accomplished clinician-scientist with extensive expertise in managing pediatric corneal diseases, developmental abnormalities of the cornea, rare eye conditions, advanced corneal transplantation, and surgical management of pediatric corneal disorders. Serving as Chief of the Institute for Rare Eye Diseases and Ocular Genetics at the L V Prasad Eye Institute, I have led active research and clinical programs since establishing the Pediatric Cornea division in 2007. My research, supported by grants from ICMR, SERV, DBT India, IAPB, among others, focuses on validating the genetic basis of pediatric corneal diseases, with numerous publications and innovative surgical techniques contributing to improved outcomes.
