Dr. Srijana Adhikari is an Associate Professor and Head, Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and chief of hospital service in Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology Kathmandu, Nepal. She did her MD Ophthalmology from Tribhuvan University teaching hospital Nepal in 2004 and fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus from Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina in 2006. She has more than 50 national and international publications including a book and several book chapters and training manuals. She has various national and international research collaboration projects. She is currently involved in research on participation, activity, sleep and quality of life of children with Visual Impairment and blindness in collaboration with Amsterdam Public Health Institute. She has been involved in Ophthalmology outreach program in Nepal, China and Africa, Cambodia. She is a recipient of “Ratna Vidya Padak ” award of Nepal Government, Millers international travel award 2015, Bernadotte’s children vision award in 2016 and AAPOS-CEF research award in 2018. She got Heroes of Orbis recognition in August 2023. She is the current president of Nepal Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Society, Chief of hospital service, treasurer SAARC Academy of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, International member of American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS), AARVO, member of AAPOS childhood vision impairment subcommittee, section editor in Nepalese’s Journal of Ophthalmology.
