- Dr Vanessa Naseem obtained FRCS, (Fellowship Of Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow) in Ophthalmology in 2003.
- Underwent Oculoplastic Subspeciality surgical training in Rotterdam Eye Hospital- Netherlands, National University Hospital- Singapore and Serdang Hospital – Malaysia.
- Founding member and past Chairperson of Malaysian Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
- Started the Oculoplastic Department in the Penang General Hospital, Malaysia.
- Currently practising in Island Hospital, Penang, Malaysia since 2016.
- Councillor in the APSOPRS (Asia Pacific Society of Oculoplastic and
- reconstructive surgery) since 2018.
- Part of executive committee in WOW (Women Ophthalmologist Worldwide)
- Excellence Service award by Ministry of Health Malaysia
- Excellence Service Award by Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology
- Recipient of Asia Pacific Association of Ophthalmology Achievement Award
- Actively involved in presentations (local and international meetings) and publications in International Peer reviewed Journals in Ophthalmic & Oculoplastic Surgery.
